Jennifer Has a Blog … What?!

Well, I’m doing it… I am jumping into the world of blogging. This is totally something that is out of my comfort zone, but it’s a new year, might as well give it a go! My goal is to (hopefully) post a monthly blog sharing tidbits of my life as a doula and tips and tricks about pregnancy, labor, birth, and the first year with your new little ones. I want this blog to be totally informal and conversational, because, well, that’s how I write.

I am finishing up my first year as a birth doula, and let me say, it has been AWESOME! (As you read that picture me with jazz hands… hehe!) Throughout my life I have always known I wanted to be part of this magical time of pregnancy and birth and I feel so fortunate to have been invited to be a part of every single birth I have attended. Being a birth doula is what I was destined to do so I feel like I am living my dream!

So, please join me on this new adventure!

Here is a picture from one of my beautiful births this past year!

    Dear Jennifer,
As my baby girl turns one year today, I could not help it and last night was remembering my birthing experience and the long hours spent in the hospital. Your warm and calm presence and your uplifting guidance throughout the unexpectedly long hours made the exhausting birthing journey easier to cope with. Thank you for being there for me, thank you for holding my hands and calming me down while I was shivering on the operating table. Having YOU by my and my husband’s side for very tiring 30 hours straight made the entire birthing journey easier. Thank you for your wonderful support!!!
    Ivana and baby Ella 🙂
